In the social setting of the human community on earth, a human being appears dishonourable and is seen as such by his fellow-men when he struggles desperately for what everyone knows does not belong to him. If he succeeds in this undesirable quest, he is seen either as a usurper or as a thief. Any usurper will always be an undesirable character in the community just as a thief.
It is an explicit commandment of God that any of His creatures should not steal. This is because there is no justifiable reason for such negative disposition because the table in His Creation will always be found to be an ever-laid table in the consistent working of His providence and wealth of His grace.
Power belongs absolutely to God, the awesome Creator of all the worlds. His sovereign Will has precedence in governance and rulership. For this reason He has made unmatchable provision for governance and rulership in His Work of Creation. It was the misguiding effects of sin and the consequent fall of man that made the human creature to look outside this wise providential provision and arrangement. And what did man experience? Errors, calamities and the dangers of self-destruction if he does not retrace his steps.
When man contrived political philosophies to the blatant exclusion of the Creative Will of God and It’s lawful precedence, he had to necessarily find himself in many bitter struggles for earthly power. Wars had to be fought with large-scale destruction, murders were planned and executed, outright diabolic means were procured from the powers of the darkness to achieve political ends. When we look critically at the much-espoused form of earthly governance – democracy – it is defined as the government of the people, by the people and for the people. No where is mentioned or implied the relevance and precedence of He Who brought Creation into being and has since maintained Creation with His power.
Man, with this sinful act of omission and commission against the creative Will of God, enlisted himself as a citizen of the world of darkness driven by lust for power, greed and the urge to dominate. However lust for power, greed and vicious schemes dehumanises the human creature. A man who hacks down a political opponent with a machete in the struggle for political power cannot claim to be human.
He who has ears let him hear.
All dangers that result from the struggle for earthly power can be summed up in one key danger, and that is self-destruction in the second death and effacement from the Book of Life.
Governance and power belongs absolutely to God alone.
